Assistive Technology & Communications Specialist

CJay is​ the Assistive Technology & Communications Specialist at Neurodiversity Ireland, dedicated to empowering neurodiverse individuals through tailored AT solutions. As a partially sighted dyslexic AuDHDer, they bring lived experience to their work, alongside a strong academic background in Information Systems and IT from TU Dublin. CJay has extensive experience developing and implementing AT strategies in schools and communities, with a focus on Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC). A passionate advocate for assistive technology,

CJay has mentored on projects like Appventure, spoken at multiple conferences, and earned awards, including the Eir Disability Champion title. They actively work to raise awareness of AAC and accessibility tools to enhance communication and independence. Outside of their professional role, CJay enjoys music, lego, video games, and volunteering to support LGBT+ and neurodiverse communities.

Sorcha Rice (She/Her)

Occupational Therapist, Clinical Practice Manager

Sorcha Rice is the Clinical Practice Manager and Senior Occupational Therapist at Neurodiversity Ireland. She is Autistic ADHD with a PDA Profile, and draws on both her professional experience and lived perspective in her work. Her approach is child-led, trauma-informed, and neuroaffirming, focusing on creating safe, supportive spaces where children can thrive as their authentic selves. With years of experience supporting children and families, Sorcha combines clinical expertise with genuine empathy to guide therapy that is both practical and compassionate.

In 2025, Sorcha spoke at the Gestalt Language Processing Conference, Neurodiversity Ireland Conference, Child-Led SLP Conference, and the Children’s Continence Ireland Conference, as well as delivering numerous local community talks and webinars. She is passionate about sharing her lived experience and practical supports with parents, teachers, and children. Sorcha was also part of the School Therapy Pilot Programme, contributing her expertise in developing neuroaffirming, relationship-based support within educational settings.
