James Spalding
Head of Technology and Innovation
Hi, I’m James. I’m Head of Technology and Innovation at Neurodiversity Ireland, where I lead the design and build of the technology behind our services - from the booking systems families use, to the tools our clinical and operations teams rely on every day.
I’m a full-stack engineer, and my focus here is building technology that is genuinely ours: privacy-first, accessible by default, and owned by the charity rather than rented from somewhere else. I believe the tools an organisation uses should reflect its values - so ours are built to keep people’s data safe, to work with how different brains actually work, and to take routine load off the team so they can spend their time with the children and families we support.
Much of my work is about turning the everyday running of the charity - bookings, records, communication - into calm, dependable systems, so that the technology quietly does its job and the people never have to fight it.
